HOW CAN I STAY HEALTHY IN COLD AND FLU SEASON?

Wash Your Hands
You've heard it time and time again, but washing your hands is one of the best ways to stop the spread of cold and flu. Viruses can live on surfaces for up to 48 hours, so you could be infected by touching anything. Make sure to wash you and your kid's hands before meals, after using the restroom, and even before putting in your contacts

Vitamin D3 AND Vitamin K
Vitamin D3 is the vitamin we typically get from the sun that increases our immune system function. During the colder months, we do not get outside as much, and thus our intake decreases. Take Vitamin D3, along with Vitamin K (which helps ensure Vitamin D's effectiveness) to help fight off viruses and bacteria.

Probiotics
More than 70% of the human immune system resides in the gut, so it is important to keep it healthy. Taking probiotics helps restore balance to your gut, providing good bacteria that helps stimulate a healthy immune system, boosting the population of cells that seek out and destroy infecting viruses. They significantly reduce your risk of getting sick, and if you do get sick, reduce the severity and duration of your illness.

Get Adjusted
Your immune system is your body's primary defense against infection, when it is working correctly. Your spine houses your nervous system, which controls your immune system. If something is out of alignment in your spine, it can impact the way your immune system functions. Get adjusted to make sure everything is in optimal condition for fighting off viruses like the cold and flu.

Garlic/Garlic Supplements
Garlic has been used for many years as a food ingredient and for its medicinal properties. Garlic contains alliin, which when crushed or chewed, becomes allicin. Allicin has the ability to convert compounds that boost the disease-fighting response in some types of white blood cells when they encounter viruses, like the ones associated with cold or flu. Taking garlic can reduce your risk of becoming sick, or decrease the amount of time you are sick, as well as decreasing the severity of your symptoms.
